LKSoft Baltic is focusing on STEP and its implementation with the Java™ programming language. The purpose of STEP
is to establish the minimum tool suite for data interchange standards to support interoperability among the engineering design and manufacturing companies.
Concurrent engineering and design outsourcing are major factors driving the demand for data exchange. Product data must be shared among a
large number of people and organizations, both concurrently and sequentially.
Highly qualified professional programmers at LKSoft Baltic are active in developing parts of the STEP standard. The realization of STEP benefits
is encouraged and carried out by participating in R&D projects. IDA-STEP project started in 2001 targets
the issue of concurrent engineering in automotive industry. Currently IDA-STEP has evolved into product family for preview and management of PDM, electrical,
